Women who get illegal abortions should be ‘punished’ says Donald Trump

Women who have illegal abortions should be punished, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said Wednesday, before backpedaling after a firestorm erupted over his latest controversial comment.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton branded Trump’s remark “horrific,” Bernie Sanders called it “shameful” and even major pro-life groups spoke out strongly against punishing women who have abortions.

Trump’s comment came during a combative interview on MSNBC, with host Chris Matthews pressing the billionaire reality TV star to specify how a woman should be punished, if abortion were banned in the United States.

“This is the difficult situation you placed yourself in, by saying you’re pro-life you want to ban abortion,” Matthews said. “How do you ban abortion without some kind of sanction?”

Trump tried to sidestep the question, saying he hadn’t determined what kind of punishment a woman should face for having an abortion, but acknowledged “the answer is that there has to be some form of punishment.”

Asked if the man who gets the woman pregnant should be punished, Trump responded, “I would say no.”

The 69-year-old Trump, who during his political life has been a Democrat and an independent and is only a recent convert to the “pro-life” anti-abortion position, has been accused in the past of flip-flopping on the hot-button issue.

Clinton wasted little time in voicing her disgust at Trump’s remarks, the latest in a series from a candidate accused of peddling misogyny and anti-Muslim sentiment on the campaign trail.

Trump is also struggling badly to attract women voters nationally.

“Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse. Horrific and telling,” Clinton said in a tweet.

As the outcry grew, the Clinton campaign posted a flurry of tweets saying all women deserve equal access to health care, apparently seeking to capitalize on the momentum.

“We can’t let someone with this much contempt for women’s rights anywhere near the White House,” one posting said.

Clinton and other Democratic lawmakers are defenders of a woman’s right to obtain an abortion, a procedure still fiercely opposed by many Republicans, four decades after the US Supreme Court affirmed its legality nationwide.

Even Trump’s ultraconservative rival Ted Cruz, an evangelical Texas senator, bashed Trump, accusing the real estate mogul of saying “anything just to get attention.”

Ohio Governor John Kasich, the third candidate in the Republican race for the White House, also weighed in: “Of course women shouldn’t be punished,” he told MSNBC.

Women’s health provider Planned Parenthood, which conservatives oppose for its abortion practices, said Trump “is now inciting violence against women for making a decision that’s theirs to make.”

D'Angelo Russell apology to Iggy Azalea for the Leaked Video

It's been quite a week for the Los Angeles Lakers, and it has little to do with what's been taking place on the court. After rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell's video surfaced, which showed teammate Nick "Swaggy P" Young – who is engaged to Iggy Azalea (who incidentally thanked Russell for the video) – talking about infidelities, the team has been making headlines. On Wednesday, Russell offered a mea culpa during an interview with The Vertical, via Complex.

Russell referred to the incident as one of the pranks the pair often pulled on one another and he didn't consider that it could "have bigger consequences."

"I am sick. I am sorry about recording the video," Russell said. "I can't repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened."

Russell filmed the video in December, though he said he was not sure how the tape was made public months later. "I never intentionally wanted to hurt anyone," he told The Vertical. "I never wanted what was said in there to get out. It was my fault that it did, but that was never intentional."

The point guard also said he apologized to Young directly, though he didn't reveal whether Young had forgiven him. Prior to his apology, the violation of trust between he and his teammates was a palpable point of contention. He admitted that he knew it would take time to "regain trust and confidence" among his fellow Lakers.

"I know this is going to be tough," he said. "I am a good person. I cherish the relationships I have and I would never intentionally hurt someone. I will work hard to earn back the trust of my teammates and those who were impacted by this." He added that "I'll do whatever it takes."

French minister sparks fury by comparing Muslim women who wear the headscarf to “negroes who supported slavery”

A French government minister on Wednesday compared women who wear the veil to “negroes who supported slavery” amid a backlash against the growing trend for Muslim-orientated fashion.

Families minister Laurence Rossignol, sparked outrage on social media with her comment which came after former fashion mogul Pierre Berge lashed out at designers creating Islamic clothing and headscarves, accusing them of taking part in the “enslavement of women.”
The businessman, partner of the late fashion legend Yves Saint Laurent, took aim at the wave of big fashion chains that have followed the Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana in catering specifically to the Muslim market.

Rossignol, who is also responsible for women’s rights, maintained she was referring to an abolitionist tract by the French philosopher Montesquieu, “On the Enslavement of Negroes”, when she made her controversial comments to BFMTV and RMC radio.

As she apologised for using the n-word, two leading French designers – Agnes b and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac – also came out strongly against so-called “modest” Muslim-friendly fashion.

“I am scandalised by it,” Berge told Europe 1 French radio.

“Creators should have nothing to do with Islamic fashion. Designers are there to make women more beautiful, to give them their freedom, not to collaborate with this dictatorship which imposes this abominable thing by which we hide women and make them live a hidden life.”

Rossignol admitted later to AFP that she had made “an error of language”.

“But other than that… I don’t take back a word,” the socialist said.

Mariah, I need your help. Please don’t abandon me.’ -Dying sister pleads to her

Mariah Carey’s sister Alison Carey has begged her to put aside their differences and help save her life in a new video taken at her hospital bedside. In a video released by Daily Mail, the former drug addict, who is also HIV positive said;

‘Mariah I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don’t abandon me like this.’

Alison awaits brain and spine surgery and if she pulls through, faces years of physical rehabilitation and according to Mariah Carey’s brother, Morgan, Alison was institutionalized for observation after being found wandering in the street barefoot and partially dressed.
Alison once revealed she went into prostitution to feed and take care of Mariah and her siblings before Mariah found fame and wealth.

Morgan hopes Mariah who has an estimated net worth of $510 million and is engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer, will come help them.

Morgan, 55, wanted to prove Alison was lucid and had her faculties about her.

In the short clip the penniless former prostitute is spaced out and slurring her words as brother Morgan asks for her permission to have the order lifted.
Morgan says: ‘Alison, look at me, you’re Alison Carey, are you Alison Carey?’ She responds: ‘Yes’.
Morgan continues: ‘Today is September 15, 2015?’
‘Yes’, she replied.
‘[Redacted] signed a “do not resuscitate”…do you want to revoke that order?’
Morgan asked the question three times and she responded, ‘I do’, each time.
Morgan added : ‘The worst is yet to come and Mariah has it in her power to at least ensure a soft landing and avoid a life time of regret about missing this opportunity to forgive and help her only sister.’
‘I would be hopeful, although I am not encouraged by the past, that Mariah would step up because she’s in a position to step up.
‘We’re talking about small change to these people, her fiancĂ© is a billionaire.
‘The least they could do is put Alison in a good hospital and make sure she gets the care she needs.
‘Mariah is the one person in the family who could actually make a real meaningful difference to Alison’s life.’
‘It was painful for her to speak, you could hear the raspiness in her breath, she had had a tube down her throat for so long.
‘She looked like she had been beaten down by this whole experience, her eyes were foggy, her skin jaundice and she had very little motor control.
‘Every effort, every movement was very labored and painful and difficult , but she was very much alive.
‘I wanted to be able to prove that she was lucid, that she understood who she was, where she was, what was going on around her.

Doctors in the US perform first HIV-to-HIV liver transplant

The world’s first liver transplant from a donor infected with HIV to an HIV-positive recipient was announced Wednesday by US doctors, three years after a US ban on such operations was overturned.

The procedure involved a deceased donor whose liver was transplanted into a patient who had been infected with the virus that causes AIDS more than 20 years ago, said doctors at Johns Hopkins University.

The same donor also gave her kidney to another patient for transplant.

“A couple of weeks ago we performed the first HIV-to-HIV liver transplant in the world, and the first HIV-to-HIV kidney transplant in the United States,” Dorry Segev, professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, told a press conference.

Similar HIV-to-HIV kidney transplant operations have already taken place in South Africa.

“This is a very exciting day for us,” Segev added.

“But it is really only the beginning.”

Both patients – whose identities were not revealed – are recovering well from their operations, the medical team said.

The kidney transplant patient has already left the hospital.

The donor’s name was not released, but her family issued a statement describing her as a “very boisterous soul” who fought for justice.

“She was a daughter, a mother, an auntie, best friend and sister,” it said.

“She was able to leave this world helping those underdogs she fought so hard for.”

– Thousands die while waiting –

Under US law, it was illegal to use an organ from a donor infected with HIV for transplant until Congress passed the HOPE Act, which US President Barack Obama signed into law in 2013.

People with HIV have been able to get organs from HIV-negative donors, but due to the scarcity of organ donors, many of those waiting die before they can get a transplant.

About 122,000 people are on the transplant waiting list in the United States. Thousands of people die each year while they wait.

Segev said his research has shown that between 500 and 600 people with HIV – and with organs healthy enough for donation – die each year.

Now that their organs can be used for other people with HIV, some 1,000 lives may be saved annually, he said.

Still, the operations carry “unique risks,” said Christine Durand, assistant professor of medicine and oncology at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

These risks include the possibility of being exposed to a second strain of HIV from the donor.

Doctors must also consider whether the donor has a resistant strain of the virus, she said.

While Johns Hopkins was the first to carry out the procedure, Segev said dozens of hospitals in the United States have enough experience with negative-to-positive transplants to learn the intricacies of doing positive-to-positive surgeries.

The announcement of the two operations was applauded by advocacy groups, including the HIV Medicine Association.

“For patients living with HIV, deceased donors with the same infection represent a unique source of organs holding the potential to save the lives of hundreds of HIV-infected patients struggling with liver and kidney failure each year,” said a statement from HIVMA board chair Carlos del Rio.

“We look forward to seeing this medical breakthrough offer hope to more people living with HIV infection who are in need of organ transplants.”

New Statistics reveals Boko Haram seized over 300 children in second 2014 school attack

Boko Haram seized hundreds of children from a remote town in northeast Nigeria in late 2014 but initial calls to report the kidnapping were ignored with locals fearful of the government’s response, residents told AFP on Wednesday.
A local government administrator, a local chief, another elder and a resident all said some 300 children were among the 500 girls, boys and women taken from Damasak on Monday November 24, 2014.

The numbers involved surpass even the 276 schoolgirls who were taken from Chibok in April the same year, which drew worldwide condemnation and calls for action.

But the government of former president Goodluck Jonathan in March last year denied reports of the Damasak kidnapping while a local senator and a senior intelligence source also doubted the claim.

The administrator, whose seven-year-old child was among those abducted, said: “We kept quiet on the kidnap out of fear of drawing the wrath of the government, which was already grappling with the embarrassment of the kidnap of the Chibok schoolgirls.

“Every parent was afraid to speak out,” he said on condition of anonymity.

Locals who managed to flee alerted their political representatives in the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives but “they kept mute and ignored us”, he added.

“The government didn’t want the news out,” he said, explaining that the decision to speak out publicly came after Human Rights Watch highlighted the case on Tuesday.

– Held in a primary school –

“They went to the private school and Islamic seminaries and carted away children as young as five,” added the local chief, who also asked not to be identified.

“They also went into town and forcibly seized children from their mothers, children too old to be breastfed. My 16 nephews were among the children kidnapped. They were aged between five and 16.”

Hundreds fled across the river that separates Damasak from Diffa in neighbouring Niger but many drowned, he said, adding that he returned to bury “over 200 dead bodies in mass graves”.

The Damasak elder said the insurgents killed more than 200 in the initial attack, which happened on market day.

HRW’s report interviewed multiple witnesses to the abduction, who said the hostages were initially kept at a primary school, which was then turned into a military base.

The schoolchildren were aged seven to 17 but one witness told HRW she had not seen her two-year-old daughter and four-year-old son since they were seized on the day of the attack.

Men were detained separately and forced to dispose of bodies from the streets and the river in makeshift graves, the witnesses said, with one claiming to have seen hundreds of bodies.

– ‘Government must wake up’ –

Troops from Chad and Niger liberated Damasak on March 9 last year and discovered about 100 bodies in a mass grave under a bridge on the edge of the town. Some had been decapitated and others shot.

Hundreds more bodies, including of women and children, were found the following month on the streets, in houses and in the dried-up river, local residents said at the time.

They were covered by sand from the encroaching desert and the authorities ordered their reburial in 20 mass graves.

Both the HRW testimony and that gathered by AFP underlines the brutality of a conflict that has claimed an estimated 20,000 lives and made more than 2.6 million people homeless since 2009.

Boko Haram has long used kidnapping as a weapon of war, forcibly conscripting young boys and men into their ranks and using women and young girls as sex slaves and suicide bombers.

But the findings will also raise fresh questions about the previous government’s handling of the insurgency, after its response to the Chibok abduction was condemned as slow and lacklustre.

Nearly two years on, 219 schoolgirls are still being held.

HRW’s senior Nigeria researcher Mausi Segun, however, said while Boko Haram’s abductions could not be justified, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, in power since May last year, also

Idris Elba blames not working for his split with girlfriend

Idris Elba has blamed his break-up with his girlfriend on not being in work. The Luther star spoke about his split from Naiyana Garth last month in a rare interview on his private life. Elba, 43, talked about acting as “therapy” and said: “Therapy is a good way to cleanse my… When I’m not acting is when my life falls to sh**. It’s really interesting.

“I’m going through this b*****ks now ’cos I’m not on a film set. Had I been on a set I wouldn’t even have noticed. Probably.”

He and Naiyana, 28, have a son, Winston, two. They broke up days after he was seen partying in New York with Naomi Campbell. Elba told Esquire magazine he realised at 14 he was sexy. Now women of all ages fancied him but added: “I sound a tw*t saying that.”

Elton John hits back at sexual harrassment claims, calls them baseless

Elton John dismissed as “patently untrue” claims made by a former bodyguard who said he was repeatedly groped and sexually harassed by the singer.

The flamboyant singer’s lawyer Orin Snyder told AFP the accusations by decorated police officer Jeffrey Wenninger were “baseless” and brought by a “disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment.”

“These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff. We will not give in to his latest abuse of the legal system.”

Wenninger claims the pop icon groped him during a series of attacks that escalated “in frequency and intensity” from 2010, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In the lawsuit, Wenninger describes three alleged sex assaults during car journeys to or from John’s Los Angeles home in 2014.

During one alleged incident of “unwelcome and offensive touching and groping,” John told Wenniger to “get your todger out” and “say hello to Uncle Elton,” according to the lawsuit.

On a separate occasion the 69-year-old is alleged to have told the bodyguard: “You have so many gay genes in you, they just haven’t met up yet.”

Wenninger, a police captain who reportedly worked for John until 2014, was awarded the LAPD’s Medal of Valor in 2007 for being among a group of officers who rescued 80 senior citizens from a burning retirement home.

He is seeking unspecified damages from the veteran pianist for “battery, sexual battery and sexual harassment,” according to the lawsuit.

John, whose latest record, “Wonderful Crazy Night,” came out in February has sold over 250 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most successful musicians in history.

After well-publicized struggles with addiction and eating disorders, he became the proud father of two sons and in 2014 married his longtime partner David Furnish after Britain legalized gay marriage.

He said in a recent interview he had found “an uplifting tail-end to my life” and had “never been happier.”

“I never, ever expected to find fatherhood so joyous. I expected to enjoy it, but not to be so joyous,” he told Britain’s Press Association.

Whoopi Goldberg set to launch marijuana company

The ‘Ghost’ actress’ Whoopi & Maya collection of balm, tincture, sipping chocolate and bath soak will be available only in California to people with medical marijuana cards and are to be targeted at women as the items aim to reduce the pain and cramps from periods.

Whoopi told USA Today newspaper: “I want to go nice and slow with this. I don’t want this to be a joke to people. It’s not a joke to women.”

The 60-year-old star has teamed with Maya Elisabeth for the new range, and her partner believes the range is ripe for success as women have been herbal healers for generations, and she doesn’t think their products are any different.

Elisabeth – a founder of the all-female Northern California edible marijuana products cooperative Om Edibles – said: “I’m excited for people to feel comfortable using cannabis.”

Whoopi said smoking marijuana or drinking infused tea has helped ease her own cramps and pain, and she also uses a vape pen filled with marijuana oil to combat glaucoma headaches.

She has been open about her desire to legalise the drug and is looking forward to her new venture.

She said: “This is a nice quiet way that I can be part of this. It had to help people if I were going to be involved.

Gay couple’s lives ‘destroyed’ by custody war, after the surrogate mother said she wanted to keep the child when she found out the couple were same sex

A foreign same-sex couple battling a local Thai surrogate for custody over their infant daughter said Wednesday their lives had been “destroyed” by the 14-month legal war that has prevented their family from returning home.

American Gordon Lake, and his Spanish husband Manuel Valero, both 41, were blocked from leaving Thailand with their daughter Carmen after the surrogate refused to sign necessary paperwork following the birth last January.
The two men, who live in Spain but are currently caring for the child in Bangkok, have spent the past 14 months fighting a custody war knotted by recent changes to Thailand’s surrogacy laws and the fact that the kingdom does not legally recognise same-sex marriage.

“Our lives have been practically destroyed this past year,” Lake said after the final witness hearing wrapped up Wednesday, adding that months of legal bills had left the couple’s finances in shambles.

Their other child, a son, has spent the past year living with Valero’s sister in Spain.

“It kills us inside that they are not together,” Lake, who is Carmen’s biological father, told AFP.

The surrogate, Patidta Kusonsrang, has shied from the media and did not speak to the press following the trial.

Thailand for years hosted a thriving yet largely unregulated international surrogacy industry popular among same-sex couples, but a string of scandals in 2014 spurred the military government to ban foreigners from using Thai surrogates.

One high-profile case saw an Australian couple accused of abandoning a baby with Down’s syndrome carried by a Thai surrogate while taking his healthy twin sister. In another, a Japanese man was controversially found to have fostered at least 15 babies with surrogates.

Although the new law came into effect after Carmen was born, Valero and Lake’s trial began afterwards.

Their lawyer told AFP a clause in the legislation offers a way out for couples whose children were born before the law, but it refers to a “husband and wife”, leaving judges to decide whether the provision applies to a same-sex marriage.

“The spirit of this act is to protect children. So for the benefit of the child I think she should be with her biological father,” said the lawyer Rachapol Sirikulchit.

A verdict is scheduled for 26 April.

The couple has also filed a defamation case seeking financial compensation from the surrogate and her legal aide, who they accuse of trying to “destroy our lives by telling lies”.

“We came with a suitcase for three weeks,” Valero told AFP outside the courtroom in Bangkok, referring to January 2015 when Carmen was born. “Hopefully we will go back to Spain before she is 16-months-old”.

Hilarious: Meet the Zimbabwean woman who believes her daughter is 'Jesus Christ'

News reports have revealed the existence of a Zimbabwean woman who believes that her daughter is Jesus Christ's reincarnate.
A woman who has been identified as Mrs Entrance Nyanyete, reportedly left residents of Mudzimu Unoyera Sect in Chatiza Village, Mashonaland Central’s Guruve District of Zimbabwe believing the 'Messiah' lives among them.

Sunday Mail reports that, upon a visit to her home on Good Friday, March 25, 2016, she had not been available but had met with her mother, Mai Maria (Mother Mary), who confessed to forgetting the approach of Easter.

Speaking with the journalists, Maria had said:

“I had forgotten that it is Easter. You have actually reminded me of my child’s death. This is actually one of the most painful times of my life as it reminds me of the time white people overseas killed my child.”

Her husband, and Mrs Nyanyete's father, known as “Baba Josefa” (Father Joseph), adds:

“You came here to ask about our Easter celebrations. See how painful it is to her? It is painful to celebrate because this is the day Jesus was killed.”

Those who believe in the doctrine, now forming a sect, burst into singing as one of the followers, Mary, wiped “Mai Maria’s” tears, sprinkling deodorant on her clothes.

Mai Maria also revealed that Jesus had died 2,000 years ago only to be reincarnated as Emmanuel Dzanagare Mudyiwa in 1939.

Mudyiwa had reportedly died in 1989 and the spirit of Jesus had entered her then six-year-old daughter, Tepsy Nyanyete, in 1998.

Sundal Mail reports that the sect now believes Nyanyete, now 24, is Jesus, referring to her as Jepsy Nyanyete, Jekia Mambo, Tenzi or Ishe Jesu, even as Zimbabweans have come to know her as ‘Girl Jesus’.

The followers are reportedly faithful despite the arrest of “Mai Maria” and “Baba Josefa” years back following charges of assaulting police officers who had been rescuing 160 children at their shrine.

Mrs Nyanyete added:

“For us, every Friday is Easter and we remember how they killed my child many years back. We celebrate it in our own way, with our own rituals, which include crying, singing and dancing.

“We are, however, grateful that Jesus came back, and this time, she will not die. She is not going away anymore. She is set to live forever and rule the earth.”

Charly Boy's open letter to President Buhari

Controversial media personality, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has penned an open-letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on the current fuel scarcity and the call for the sack of Dr Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.
He wrote,

"My dear Presido,

Please tell all them brown nosed praise singers, called politicians to hands off meddling and interrupting the flow of our Honorable Minister of Petroleum. Dr Ibe Kachikwu. We are all aware of the plots, nonsensical, local and ethnic intrigues called politics being thrown up to tamper with Ibe Kachikwu’s position. I warn that a stop must be put to this. We all know that corruption is fighting back the war against corruption. With the changes I have seen in NNPC and my personal interaction with this outstanding Nigerian of great repute, a humble, brilliant, intelligent and an outstanding scholar; one of the few patriots in your cabinet, it will be a disaster if we lose him. You know this is no lie.

While I don’t want to tow the line of ethnic or tribal propaganda, those claiming that this call for Kachikwu’s sack is entirely an ethnic proclivity may not be far from the truth, going by precedence we all know. At this stage and age of our democracy, such childish tendencies and immaturity ought to be dealt away with, if we all truly hold the interest of this nation dear. These useless yahoo yahoo leaders should desist from their frivolous, devisive, tribal, and ethnic politics and allow him do his job basically.

As a result of corruption, we have found round pegs in square holes; because of corruption, thieves and criminals took over leadership and because of corruption, our economy is in this mess. Even with your fight Sai Baba, you can see that winning the battle against corruption is not an easy one; it is worse than BokoHaram.

It is clear that most of the people responsible for our economic woes are fighting back, not knowing what you may do next. In my opinion, this is one of the ways they’re putting up the fight: they want to rid your government of the few who can make visible impact in a system that has hitherto been jeopardized.

These unscrupulous elements must not be allowed to find you predictable, they must not be able to hold you hostage in your own administration, they must not turn you to a mere stooge as it was the case in Nigeria in not too distant past. You no be zombie.

Let those who know the job be allowed to do it or else, I will be forced to mobilize 2,000,000 protesters to march against this useless agitation.

Enough is enough, you are the President, please take charge.

What you decide to do next will determine, to a great extent, how this Naija ship is steered.

We are all watching, and waiting.

Thank you Your Excellency, for reading.

Best Regards,

Charles ‘CharlyBoy’ Oputa."

Cristiano Ronaldo says his son should be a footballer, just like the dad

Real Madrid star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he wishes his son becomes a professional top footballer just like himself, but said he wouldn’t force his son to take up football as a career.
Ronaldo frequently uploads pictures of himself and his son in the gym or playing football and says his son’s athletic characteristics and love for football at 5 years of age is a sign his son might go into the football world.
“I want my son to be a player. I am a footballer and I want him to be one too,” the Real Madrid star told the Chinese channel Zhejiang Satellite TV, which has been filming Ronaldo as part of a reality show based around the player.
I think he has something of an athlete about him, he has athletic characteristics. Obviously he is very young, a baby, he’s only five but he loves football, that is a big plus.
I have 30 balls at home, he is always with the ball and he loves it. But I will not force him to be a player because it comes naturally, it has to be his choice,
He will be whatever he wants to be, I am not going to push him at all. But obviously I want Cristiano to be a player. A top one, like his dad.” He said

Despite his penchant for predicting disasters, Nigerian ‘Prophet’ T.B. Joshua has finally unveiled a prophecy with ‘good news’.
A video has surfaced online claiming Joshua foretold the hijack situation that unfolded in Egypt in the early hours of Tuesday 29th March, countering insinuations that the cleric’s controversial predictions only concern ‘doom’ and ‘gloom’.
“I am seeing a balloon – it was hijacked and people were inside,” Joshua is seen telling his congregation in an undated video, describing a scenario that would result in ‘Breaking News’ worldwide.

“But at the end of the day, they were able to rescue the balloon and the people… they will not be able to blow anything,” he continues, followed by heavy applause from the congregation

Joshua then led his members in a prayer of thanksgiving for the impending ‘rescue’ and ‘victory’.
The prophecy allegedly concerns the explosive events that occurred when a man hijacked EgyptAir flight MS181 carrying at least 55 passengers from Alexandria to Cairo on Tuesday morning, forcing it to land in Cyprus.

Most passengers were released immediately but at least seven people, including crew members, were forcibly kept on the plane by the hijacker who claimed to be wearing a suicide belt which he threatened to detonate.

The crisis eventually drew to a conclusion several hours later as the remaining hostages began to cautiously emerge from the plane, one making a dramatic jump from a cockpit window.

The suspected hijacker then appeared with his hands up, subsequently being arrested.

Joshua made headlines for another prediction last week when Emmanuel TV’s official YouTube channel released a video claiming he predicted the tragic terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium which led to the deaths of over 31 people.

Malawian President Peter Mutharika also publicly mocked Joshua for allegedly predicting his impending death, although no substantial evidence was provided to show such a prophecy was ever made.
