Woman sues salon for Stroke allegedly caused by hair shampooing

A California woman, 48 year old Elizabeth Smith is suing a hair salon, alleging that getting a shampoo at their beauty salon caused her stroke two weeks later.

Smith filed a lawsuit against the salon, saying that she was getting her hair shampooed at the Blow Dry & Hair Extension Bar in December 2013, when her neck was “hyper-extended” and lead to a stroke 2 weeks later that has had lasting consequences.

Smith alleged that the hyper-extension lead to “cut her vertebral artery,” according to court papers filed by Smith’s attorneys in December. Smith alleged the chair and shampoo bowl were “defective” and lead to the hyper-extension.

Smith told ABC News affiliate KGTV she wanted to raise awareness, since she still has a clot in her brain that could cause more damage.
“So I do live with that every night. I go to sleep wondering, will I wake up tomorrow?” said Smith.

Smith allegedly suffered a stroke on Jan. 5, 2014, nearly two weeks after getting her hair done.

According to her doctors report, they found signs on the 4th of January that she had an artery dissection in her vertebrae, meaning the artery wall had slightly broken. The injury could lead a clot to form as the artery repairs itself, however, if the clot breaks and goes to the brain it can cause a stroke called a “beauty parlor stroke” by neurologists.

The report also says her hands are unsteady and she couldn’t see with her left eye.

In response, the salon denied any negligence and alleged that she “failed to exercise any degree of care for her own safety and as a result proximately caused her own injuries.”

The case is still in court.

Dr. Warren Selman, Director of the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals Case Medical Center explained that when it comes to the term “beauty parlor stroke,” it is “definitely something that all neurologists know about.”
“Actually calling it a ‘beauty parlor stroke’ is relatively common in the teaching, it’s been reported quite a lot,” he said. “If you tip your head back and get numbness or tingling and your speech slurs,” that could be a warning sign of an injury, Selman added.

Oscar 2016 host Chris Rock took a swipe at Will and wife Jada Smith at the Oscars

Jada Pinkett-Smith started the 2016 Oscars boycott after her husband Will Smith was snubbed. You would think the host, a black man, Chris Rock, would support his own people…lol…but last night he took a swipe and Jada and Will. He said;
‘It’s not fair that Will Smith was this good in ‘Concussion and didn’t get nominated. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for ‘Wild Wild West!’, was one of Rock’s first zingers aimed at the Hollywood power couple.”
Then about Jada Pinkett-Smith, Chris Rock said;

‘What happened this year? Jada’s going to boycott the Oscars. Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited! ‘It’s not an invitation I would turn down.’
Other things he said below…
“You realize if they nominated hosts, I wouldn’t even get this job. You’d be watching Neil Patrick Harris right now,’
‘It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means this whole no black nominees thing has happened at least 71 other times,’
Speaking on why the furor over diversity in the industry was an issue today rather than in the 1950s or 1960s, Chris Rock said black Americans had bigger issues to worry about then.
‘Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won best cinematographer.’
‘When your grandmother is swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about best documentary foreign short.’
Chris then told a true story that involved President Barack Obama.
‘I was at a fundraiser for president Obama, a lot of you were there … It’s all of Hollywood and there were four black people there: me, Quincy Jones, Russell Simmons, Questlove. The usual suspects,’
‘At some point you get to take a picture with the president. As they’re setting up the picture you get a little moment with the president. I’m like, ‘Mr. President, you see all these writers producers and actors, they don’t hire black people – and they’re the nicest white people on Earth. They’re liberals!’
Later he talked about racism in Hollywood
‘Everyone wants to know in the world, is Hollywood racist? Is it ‘burning cross racist’? No. Is it ‘fetch me some lemonade racist’? No. It’s a different type of racist…. Hollywood is ‘sorority racist.’ It’s like, we like you Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa.’

Bolivian president asks to see child born to ex-girlfriend

President Evo Morales appealed Monday for access to a son born out of wedlock to an ex-girlfriend who is now at the center of a corruption scandal shaking his administration.

Morales had previously acknowledged fathering a child with Gabriela Zapata during a two year affair but claims she had told him the infant died shortly after birth.

In a twist worthy of a telenovela, though, Zapata’s aunt revealed last week that the child was not dead, but alive and well.

“I ask the family of Gabriela Zapata, to bring him to me, I am waiting, I want to hold him, if they will let me,” Morales said. “I have a right to see him, to know him, to care for him.”

The 28-year-old Zapata, meanwhile, is in prison on orders of a prosecutor investigating allegations she used her influence with Morales on behalf of a Chinese engineering group, CAMC, which obtained $560 million in government contracts.

She faces charges of money laundering, embezzlement and abuse of influence, prosecutor Edwin Blanco said Sunday.

Zapata, who until recently was a senior manager at CAMC, entered into a relationship with Morales in 2005 when she was 18 years old. Morales, who is 56, said it ended two years later.

He has said their child would now be eight or nine years old.

“Evidently there was a divergence over the death of the baby. I believed in the words and the information provided by the mother of my son,” he told reporters at the Quemado presidential palace.

“I don’t think they told me falsely that the baby had died,” he said.

He warned that if Zapata’s family did not produce the child, he would be obliged to go to the courts to demand an investigation.

A reporter’s bombshell disclosure last month of the previously unpublicized relationship set off an investigation into influence peddling just weeks before Bolivia was to vote on whether to change the constitution to allow Morales to run for a fourth term.

The February 21 referendum was the first electoral defeat for Morales, who has been re-elected three times and already is Bolivia’s longest serving president.

A congressional committee is investigating the contracts awarded to CAMC, and opposition members of congress have called for Morales and Zapata to testify.

Press reports have alleged that as a CAMC manager, Zapata wrote letters to government agencies seeking contracts on behalf of the Chinese contractor.

The opposition accuses Morales of favoring Zapata, and insists their relationship lasted at least until 2015, despite Morales’ denials.

US ‘Super Tuesday’ – what exactly is at stake?

Americans in a dozen states head to the polls for a slew of primaries and caucuses Tuesday on what is considered the most important day of the presidential nominations calendar.

Here is what is at stake on “Super Tuesday,” which could have a big impact on Democratic and Republican contenders still in the race for the White House:

– Twelve states vote –

A dozen states are holding contests, including several in the South. For the most part, they are both Republican and Democratic in nature.

Two exceptions are Alaska, where only Republican caucuses are being held, and Colorado, where only Democratic caucuses will take place.

In contrast to primary elections, caucuses are meetings which voters attend and where they indicate their preference.

Here is the list of “Super Tuesday” states in alphabetical order:

Alabama (south)

Alaska (northeast, Republican caucus)

Arkansas (south)

Colorado (west, Democratic caucus)

Georgia (south)

Massachusetts (northeast)

Minnesota (north)

Oklahoma (south)

Tennessee (south)

Texas (south)

Vermont (northeast)

Virginia (east)

Democrats are also voting in American Samoa in the Pacific.

– Times/delegates in play –

Most of the polling places open between 7am and 8am local time across US eastern and central time zones and close between 7pm and 9pm.

In Alaska, caucuses finish around 0500 GMT Wednesday.

About a quarter of all delegates doled out during the primary process will be up for grabs.

Texas has the largest number of delegates in play (222 on the Democratic side and 155 on the Republican side.) Alaska and Vermont have the fewest.

Primaries and caucuses serve to elect delegates to national Democratic and Republican conventions where a party’s presidential candidate is chosen ahead of the November elections.

The Republican National Convention will be held July 18-21 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Democratic National Convention takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 25-28.

For Republicans, the first candidate to reach 1,237 delegates out of 2,472 will get the party’s nomination.

On the Democratic side, the support of at least 2,382 delegates out of 4,763 is needed.

– Who’s leading? –

Four states have voted up until now – Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

Billionaire real estate magnate Donald Trump leads the Republican field, having pocketed New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. Iowa went to rival Ted Cruz, a senator from Texas.

Former first lady and secretary of state Hillary Clinton leads rival Bernie Sanders after victories in Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina. Sanders, a senator from Vermont, won in New Hampshire.

Photos: ‘Tree Man’ of Bangladesh finally undergoes first operations to remove bark-like warts from hands and feet

26-year-old Abdul Bajandar from southern Bangladesh suffers from epidermodysplasia verruciformis, a condition so rare there are only three known cases in the world. The condition is dubbed ‘Tree Man’ because sufferers grow bark-like warts on their appendages. He successfully underwent surgery to remove the warts that first started to appear ten years ago from one of his hands.
‘I have fought for 10 years and endured the pain,’ I want to live like a normal person. I just want to be able to hold my daughter properly and hug her. It would be nice to eat with my own hands as well’ Mr Bajandar said before the operation
It took a team of nine doctors at the , to remove the growths from just one of his hands.
Facility director Samanta Lal Sen said:
‘It was a successful operation. We removed warts from all five fingers of his right hand. He’s now happy and was laughing,’
‘We’ll now review his condition for the next three weeks before deciding whether to conduct more operations. It’s a big challenge.’

Bajandar’s condition made him a celebrity of sorts with people travelling from all over to see the ‘Tree Man’ and many more visiting him in hospital.

He was given the all-clear for surgery after tests confirmed the warts were not cancerous.

The Bangladesh government agreed to bear the costs of his treatment and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was given an update on his condition, Sen said.
Bajandar’s wife Halima Khatun saw her husband after the operation and said he looked ‘relaxed and happy’.
Mr Bajandar said he initially thought that the warts were harmless but slowly as the growths covered his hands and feet, he was forced to quit working as a bicycle rickshaw puller.

China shuts down over 580 social media accounts, accusing them of spreading rumours, misleading public and violating constitution

The Chinese government has reportedly suspended 580 social media accounts for spreading rumours, confusing people or disrupting social order.

Some of the users were popular with thousands of followers on Weibo, a Chinese site similar to Twitter.

In a statement, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) accused users of ‘ignoring their social responsibilities, abusing their influence, staining the honour of the state and disrupting social order’.

The organisation said it had also ordered other websites to get rid of 2,000 ‘rumours’ about government policy, the Australian reported.

China is accused of tightening censorship of the internet. From next month, foreign websites will have to get approval from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television before publishing articles.

The new controls will also apply to ‘creative content’ including games, cartoons and video.

China takes control of information very seriously.

Earlier this year media outlets reported how censors were deleting any references to Winnie the Pooh, after a meme started going round comparing president Xi Jinping to the cartoon bear, pictured above.

Desperate dad wants his identical twins tattooed, so he can tell them apart

A dad who can’t tell his identical one-year-old sons apart has made a desperate plea online to parents of other sets of twins to help him out with ways by which he can easily identify them.
The anonymous man wrote the cry for help on Reddit , after admitting that he and his wife had ‘tried everything’ to tell them apart.

His desperation is due to the fact that one of the twins has serious health issues and needs medication every four hours.
He wrote:
“If he doesn’t have his medication it leads to significant consequences. The boys are completely identical. Even me and my wife can’t tell them apart and have been drawing on Adam’s arm every day with permanent marker.”
He added:
“The twins were at Grandma’s and after a bath rubbed off the text, Grandma accidentally gave Aaron’s medication to Adam.
“Adam ended up very sick and Aaron in hospital for a week. This is a serious, extreme situation and I don’t want to take this risk again. We have had other mix-ups with the boys but it has never wound up this bad.”

He said they’ve tried everything from nail polish to bracelets to anklets to specific colours of clothes for each boy but they want something more permanent to identify them with.
“I read online about someone tattooing a single dot on one of the twins and also about piercing ears.
“I really hate to say it, but we are here. I need to do something permanent. I could have lost both my sons last weekend and I’m desperate.
“I am really only after permanent solutions. Believe me when I say we have tried everything else before and it didn’t work. Please help me. I don’t want to lose my boy.”
Some reddit users gave some suggestions. One said:
“My friend has a similar issue and used to paint her boys’ toenails. She ended up getting a dot tattooed on the bottom of one boy’s foot”.
“I think the ear piercing is a great idea, very low risk. Babies often have their ears pierced while they are young with no extreme side effects”
Another suggested a henna tattoo might be a better and less permanent option.

Woman spends £130,000 on plastic surgery to look like her caricature

It was a moment that is played out on countless holidays every summer but for Krystina Butel it would change her life forever. The hairdresser, from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, had a caricature drawn for her on a trip to Ibiza when she was aged just 15 and has been chasing the look since.

She has spent more than £130,000 in 15 years in the pursuit of perfection and still thinks there is work to be

Her shopping list of treatments and surgeries ranges from £200 a month on sunbeds to five boob jobs to take her cup size from 32DD to 36K.

‘When I saw the caricature for the first time, that was it,’ she said. ‘I was so happy. It was as if finally I knew exactly what I wanted to be. I wanted to look like that cartoon. I felt envious of it.

‘It was as if the artist had seen the potential in me; he showed me what I could be if I pushed myself to the limit. The caricature led me in the direction that I wanted to go down.’

For Krystina, now 31 and recently single, it’s an addiction but one she is happy to pursue.

‘I know I’m going to wake up afterwards and see something new in my body,’ she said. ‘For me, it’s about getting closer to my dream. With every surgery, my appearance has got more exaggerated and I’ve gone for the caricature look fully.’

She keeps the artwork hanging in her living room to inspire her to get more work done.

‘That caricature’s my icon and it’s good to see it and reflect on what I need to look more like.

‘It shows me that I’m not done yet with my cosmetic work. I don’t think I’ll ever stop having surgery. When I get older, I’ll have to do more things to my face to keep it looking just like this.’

Facebook plans to crack down on hate speech

Most of us can remember seeing racist, tribal, hate etc rants on our Facebook feed at some point (and if you can’t, you’re probably the one posting them).

But now site founder Mark Zuckerberg wants to crack down on hate speech against especially migrants, saying they are part of a group which needs protection.

Speaking to 1,000 students at a ‘town hall’ session in Berlin, he addressed concerns that the social network isn’t doing enough to prevent hate-filled posts appearing.

You know, things like these comments predicting civil war in Europe: Unfortunately, comments promoting genocide aren’t ever so difficult to find.

Some people have contrasted this with the fact Facebook is quick to act on explicit sexual content – even being heavyhanded at times, such as when moderators blocked an 1866 oil painting.

Germany’s ministry of justice said the site removed sexual imagery faster than racist messages, even though the country has strict laws against hate speech. When asked about the site’s policy at the meeting, the BBC reported Zuckerberg said: ‘There’s not a place for this kind of content on Facebook.
‘Learning more about German culture and law has led us to change the approach.

‘Hate speech against migrants is an important part of what we now have no tolerance for on Facebook.’

However, he didn’t go into detail about how to police that content.

Photo: Can you find the hidden Oscar in this picture full of C-3POs?

This particular effort comes courtesy of Philadelphia-based graphic designer Mike Rogalski, who’s been testing Imgur users with the illustration since he originally posted it on there.

It follows on from Hungarian artist Gergely Dudás. who sparked something of a craze for finding things hidden inside pictures when he posted the seasonal snap of a bear hidden in a crowd of snowmen to his Facebook page just before Christmas.

Since then we’ve had a panda in a heavy metal band, a panda in a group of Stormtroopers and a dog in a pile of Lego pandas.

But we reckon this one might just be one of the most challenging yet.

The Oscars, meanwhile, take place on Sunday night. Where we guarantee the golden statuettes will be a whole lot easier to spot…

Teenage boy who raped and murdered his maths teacher before wheeling her body away in a bin jailed for life

Philip Chism was just 14-years-old when he followed Colleen Ritzer, 24, in to the toilets at his high school and unleashed the brutal attack. Stabbing his victim’s body at least 16 times with a box cutter, he strangled and raped her, before putting her body in a recycling bin.

Heading to the woods, he then buried her body before using the young teacher’s credit card to buy a ticket for Gravity at the cinema that evening.

Police ‘shoot teenager carrying broomstick’

Angry crowds have gathered in the Rio Grande district of Salt Lake City, Utah, following the alleged shooting of a teenager carrying a broomstick by police. According to a friend of the alleged victim, the 16-year-old boy was ordered by police to put down the broomstick he was carrying and then shot four times.

An angry crowd, who according to some reports were shouting ‘f*** the police’ and throwing rocks, gathered in the area, which led to further arrests and the closure of several nearby streets.

‘The police said drop it [the broomstick] once, then shot him four times,’ said Selam Mohammad. ‘The police ran on foot and pulled their guns out already. ‘As soon as we was running he was already grabbing for his gun.
‘Like not even trying to taser him or anything like that. He said drop it – boom, boom – like four times.’

The teenager was shot in the chest and stomach and taken to hospital. His condition is not known.

Police confirmed that shots were fired, but did not say by whom.

‘Our officers were responding to a situation down in front of the shelter here,’ said Detective Greg Wilking.

‘While they were on scene, there were shots fired and officers called for more assistance.’

Hillary Clinton eyes decisive win as South Carolina begins voting

Hillary Clinton is eyeing a decisive win in South Carolina’s Democratic presidential nomination race, hoping to gain momentum against Bernie Sanders before the high-stakes “Super Tuesday” contest.

One week after Donald Trump barrelled to victory in the state’s Republican vote, on Saturday Democrats took centre stage in South Carolina, where 55 percent of voters in the 2008 party primary were black.
Clinton is expected to win the southern state, and leads in the national delegate count at this early stage, having won two of the first three nomination contests – in Iowa, narrowly, and Nevada.

Polling stations opened their doors at 7am (1200 GMT) and were to close 12 hours later, at which point a winner could be announced if one candidate has a clear lead.

“It would be a super send-off to do well here,” Clinton told several hundred mostly African American voters, who gathered Friday for an oyster roast and fish fry at the county fairgrounds in Orangeburg.

By contrast, Sanders received a cool welcome from the same crowd when he arrived unexpectedly at the event on the heels of the former secretary of state.

“In 1963, I was there with Doctor (Martin Luther) King for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom,” he said, earning some applause.

Later in Columbia, Sanders delivered his final speech to an oversized, half-empty auditorium – while in Iowa, he had easily filled an arena with 5,000 supporters.

While Sanders has the support of some high-profile African Americans such as film director Spike Lee and the rapper Killer Mike, Clinton is backed by many local elected officials and black community figures.

The 68-year-old also has the support of many of the same voters who supported her husband, Bill, whose popularity as a presidential candidate rivalled even that of Barack Obama.

Both presidents are men whom Clinton knows well, and she frequently jokes about being a part of their political lineage.

“I’m not running to do either one of their third terms, but I do think they really did a good job for America, and it would be foolish not to learn from them,” Clinton said.

In South Carolina, Clinton’s campaign has worked hard to hammer home the message that she is the only candidate who can break down barriers still preventing minorities from getting ahead.

Hillary sweeps South Carolina primary as ‘Super Tuesday’ looms

Hillary Clinton scored a resounding victory against Bernie Sanders in Saturday’s Democratic primary in South Carolina, seizing momentum ahead of the most important day of the nomination race: next week’s “Super Tuesday” showdown.

Four weeks into the White House primaries, the former secretary of state earned her first decisive win of the campaign, after a nail-biter victory in Iowa, a thumping loss to Sanders in New Hampshire, and then a five-point win in Nevada.

South Carolina was the first southern state to vote for a 2016 Democratic nominee, before the race broadens to 11 contests across the country.

“Tomorrow this campaign goes national,” Clinton said to a loud roar as she thanked supporters in Columbia, South Carolina, where she emerged with a clearer path to the nomination.

“We are going to compete for every vote in every state. We are not taking anything, and we are not taking anyone, for granted.”

US networks called the race for Clinton immediately after polls closed in the Palmetto State, where the majority of Democratic voters are African-American, a voting bloc that she and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, have successfully courted for decades.

Clinton also looked beyond her battle with Sanders, tweaking the man many now see as the likely Republican nominee: Donald Trump, whose campaign slogan is “Make America Great Again.”

“Despite what you hear, we don’t need to make America great again. America has never stopped being great,” she said, reading off a teleprompter.

“But we do need to make America whole again,” she added, laying out an argument against the divisive rhetoric favored by Trump, who has antagonized immigrants, Muslims and campaign rivals.

“I know it sometimes seems a little odd for someone running for president these days and in this time to say we need more love and kindness in America,” she added. “But I am telling you from the bottom of my heart, we do.”

Woman nearly dies after leaving tampon in for 9 days

A student in England who forgot to remove her tampon for nine days was told by doctors that had she left it in for one more day, she likely would have died. Emily Pankhurst, from Maidston, Kent, spent three days in intensive care and now, about a month after the incident, struggles to walk due to fatigue, Kent Online reported.

Pankhurst, 20, said she wants to share her story as a warning to others who may not be paying attention to their body during stress.

“I was going through an extremely stressful time, trying to complete deadlines for essays and everything on top of me,” she told Kent Online. “I started complaining of fatigue, high temperature and constant headaches, which I believed were stress-related. However, down below I noticed abnormal discharge appear straight after my regular period.”
After removing the tampon, which was completely black, Parkhurst felt cold, confused and had a pounding headache. She was rushed to the hospital while her blood pressure plummeted, and doctors determined her symptoms were a sign of sepsis, the news site reported.

“The doctors and nurses rushed to my bedside. I was sent straight to X-ray to determine whether the infection had spread to my vital organs. Luckily it hadn’t,” she told Kent Online. “I had an internal examination, which I hadn’t received before, and they found major infection. My body had experienced toxic shock syndrome through battling sepsis.

Parkhurst credits her mother with recognizing the abnormal symptoms and potentially saving her life. She now uses crutches to strengthen her legs and struggles with basic tasks.

“Girls my age are not aware of the dangers of using tampons,” Parkhurst told Kent Online. “It is so important to keep an eye on your health, especially during stressful life experiences. I hope my story can help others like myself to take care of their health and not take their life for granted, because you never know what might be around the corner.”

Man bleeds to death after wife’s bid to chop off genitals

Police in Kenya are pursuing a jilted woman who killed her husband after attempting to chop off his genitals in Bamburi, Mombasa.
The man sustained deep cuts on his private parts and died of excessive bleeding on Saturday morning.

Kisauni police boss Richard Ngatia said the man was rescued by neighbours who intervened and rushed him to a private hospital but it was too late.

It is reported that the woman went into hiding soon after the attack after being alerted that police were pursuing her.

According to neighbours, the two picked a fight after the woman caught the husband with another woman at local pub on Friday night.

“Upon reaching the house the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the husband several times including his private parts,” neighbour Hanningtone Ochieng said.

Neighbours rushed to the scene of crime on hearing his cries for help. “His body was lying on a pool of blood when we arrived,” the neighbour added.

Ngatia said officers are still looking for the woman who is still at large.

It’s understood the couple’s marriage has faced a rough patch in the past.

Kevin Hart jokes 'all the black people should be in the front row' at Oscars rehearsal

As rehearsals for tomorrow night's Oscars got underway at Los Angeles' Dolby Theater Saturday night, a relaxed Kevin Hart strolled around the stage.

Speaking to nobody in particular, he quipped: 'Where am I sitting? I was about to say all the black people should be in the first row.'

Hart may have been joking, but the statement underlines the race row that looks set to dominate this year's 88th Academy Awards.

Academy voters, largely white, elderly men, have been accused of 'whitewashing' the ceremony after no minority actors were nominated in either main acting category for the second year running.

Many black actors, including Concussion star Will Smith and wife Jada, have said they are boycotting the ceremony and have urged host Chris Rock to do the same.

Insiders say he tore up his initial opening speech and rewrote it to address the controversy in what could turn into a toe-curling evening for the 6,000 Academy members in front of television audiences expected to number in the hundreds of millions worldwide.

Controversy or no controversy, the show must go on, and so dressed-down stars took to the stage Saturday night to run through the ceremony  one last time before the big night.

Jared Leto presented an Oscar to Margot Robbie. Patricia Arquette gave one to Morgan Freeman. Chris Evans tried to claim a golden guy for himself.

After making his joke, Hart delivered his lines but was forced to flee after a large stage element came crashing down as he finished.

Fayose Gov sacks aide, arrests two others over fraud

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has sacked the state's Internal Revenue Board,Ropo Ogunjobi over alleged fraud activities.
Ogunjobi was reported to have been relieved of his duties for negligence leading to an alleged fraud running into millions of Naira.

In furtherance, two other officials of the board, Omotayo Ojo and Akinniyi Akinsola, were reported to have been arrested by the police in connection with the alleged fraud.

The suspects reportedly made confessional statements to the police upon interrogation, indicting some other members of staff.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Modupe Alade, Fayose said, “The Revenue Chairman, Ropo Ogunjobi, who also doubles as Special Assistant to the State Governor on Revenue Matters, should hand over to the most senior officer of the board.”

'The people should stop paying to the officials of the board. They should pay to the banks because these touts were on the rampage and they can dupe you. “Ekiti needs money and you all know that this has been the headache of this government and we have been doing our best to shore up the revenue, but these people are desperate to thwart our efforts. They are cornering our money,” the statement read.

'She f---ed my boyfriend, so I fired her': Madonna blasts her ex-personal trainer for ‘affair’ in front of a 20,000 crowd in the Philippines

One of Madonna's many talents is her ability pair a concert tour with some kind of controversy.

And the arrival of her Rebel Heart show in the Philippines this week - the first time she has performed in the country - was no different.

On stage in Manila on Thursday night, the queen of pop told her sold-out crowd of 20,000 people that she wanted to 'share this little story'.

'Once I had a Filipino trainer - this beautiful, beautiful girl. She was gorgeous and very talented as a trainer. But she f---ed my boyfriend, so I fired her,' Madge said, as the audience burst out laughing.

She then added, cheekily: 'So that wasn't a happy ending.'

According to Page Six, the trainer in question is Nicole Winhoffer, who worked with the singer for five years.

The two split ways in 2014.

Winhoffer was the creative direction of Hard Candy Fitness, the franchise of gyms that Madonna opened all over the world, and traveled extensively with the performer.

During the time the two worked together, Madonna dated dancers Timor Steffens and Brahim Zaibat.

Madonna reportedly split from Steffens, 28, in the middle of a European vacation in 2014, the gossip column noted.

Representatives for neither Madonna or Winhoffer responded when called for comment.

No sign of Scott! Kourtney Kardashian shops with kids and mom Kris Jenner after three nights out with her 'ex'

She's been keeping mum about rumours that her relationship with Scott Disick is back on.

And Kourtney Kardashian stayed poker-faced as she stepped out in West Hollywood on Friday with two of their children and momager Kris Jenner.

The 36-year-old seemed to be dressing her youngest in her own image as one-year-old Reign Disick hitched a lift on her hip.

Both wore cream coloured tops with pale blue denim jeans - while Penelope, three, trotted alongside her mum in a off-white sundress.

The eldest Kardashian off-spring wore her glossy brunette tresses in soft waves around her shoulders, as they had TV cameras in tow.

She appeared to be fully and expertly made-up - which she also revealed to Instagram followers in a series of selfies, which she captioned: 'I missed you Mario' - referring to her make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic.

Mario - who also does Kim's make-up - also shared a snap of the 5ft tall star on Friday, in the same top which showed off her curves and bra

‘I’m loving my husband’, Kim Kardashian makes it clear supports him and there’s no divorce

There have been fake rumours about Kim Kardashian wanting to divorce her Husband Kanye because of his embarrasing twitter rants, so Kim Kardashian took to her website kimkardashianwest.com, to make a big statement about where she stands when it comes to her husband and her loyalty.

On Friday she dedicated a post to which she titled: ‘Currently.’
When listing what she is ‘loving’ right now, she wrote: ‘My husband.’

Then she added that she ‘hated’ that people don’t get that Kanye ‘will stand up against the whole world for his creativity and art.’ Then said she was listening to the song I Love Kanye and was wearing ‘Yeezy Season 3 samples she took from the show.
She concluded the post by writing that she wants “everyone to be as honest as Kanye,” and she was watching “Kanye shoot his new video” and reading “Kanye’s tweets.” She ended the post with a Kimoji of her flipping her middle finger.
