The Greatest Love Boat: Marie Holmes Bails McDow From Jail Again

North Carolina Powerball winner Marie Holmes garnered side-eyes from a slew of social media users when her story hit the Web. In August, Holmes reportedly dropped a whopping total of $9 million on her boyfriend’s Lamarr “Hot Sauce” McDow bail after cashing out for two of his releases. On New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), Holmes spent another $12 million on bail for McDow. In his first interview since their story was made public, McDow is coming to Holmes’ defense, noting that he would “do the same for her” if their roles were reversed.

“We are a couple, and I am the father of her youngest child. This is what people do for each other. She has the money and she can do what she wants with it,”

“If I had that money then I would do the same for her. People are just jealous because of how much she won and people want to see me locked in jail.”

“We were together for two years before she won the Powerball,” he said. “Her youngest child is my daughter.

Holmes, whose Powerball winnings totaled $188 million, took to Facebook to denounce her critics.
“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody?” she wrote.

Some ISIS members Were Shot at the Bella Vista Resort in the city of Hurghada

Two jihadis armed with a pellet gun and knives have wounded three tourists at the entrance of a hotel in an Egyptian Red Sea resort.

Security forces said the attackers arrived by sea to launch the onslaught on the beachside Bella Vista Hotel, in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.

They claimed to have killed an attacker and have seriously wounded a second armed with a knife.

The interior ministry denied initial reports that the terrorists were wearing suicide vests, confirming that no explosive devices were found at the scene.

The two attackers entered the hotel’s outdoor restaurant at the front of the building and randomly started to attack the tourists.

The attackers were reportedly carrying the black flag of tawheed with the shahada, the Muslim testament of faith, written it white. The symbolic flag is commonly used by ISIS.

Egyptian authorities today said the dead attacker was a 21-year-old student from the Cairo neighbourhood of Giza as video emerged of his accomplice being questioned as he lay injured in the aftermath.

The drug lord El Chapo and his right-hand man El Cholo has been captured by U.S Marshal and drug enforcement

Notorious drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman has finally been recaptured and returned to the same maximum security jail he broke out from six months ago after authorities were tipped off to his whereabouts when he tried to make a film of his own life, according to Mexico's attorney general.

The cartel leader's narcissism appears to have been his downfall after he began the process of making a biopic, similar to that of Netflix's popular Narcos show on the life of infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, following his escape from the Altiplano jail last July.

El Chapo, which means 'the short one' in Spanish, had even started to contact producers and actresses through intermediaries to tell his 'rags to riches' story, which was what finally helped police track him down. The names of the stars he approached have not yet been confirmed.

He was arrested on Friday after a 4am raid on a house in the town of Los Mochis, located in the kingpin's home state of Sinaloa, which saw him once again escape from the clutches of police.

The cartel leader and an accomplice fled from agents through a filthy sewer, before emerging into the street where they stole cars and took off. But authorities were able to catch up with them and the cartel leader was brought back to a nearby hotel while police waited for back up, Gómez said

Governor Nyesom Wike former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity defects to APC

The former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Nyesom Wike, Mr. Opunabo Inko-Tariah, has defected to the All Progressives Congress.

Inko-Tariah expressed his support for the governorship candidate of the APC in the 2015 general elections, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, adding that it was natural for him to reciprocate gestures.

Speaking through a statement he signed and issued on Thursday, Inko-Tariah also commended the immediate past governor of the state and Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for coming to his aide when he took ill.

Inko-Tariah said that although he had criticised Amaechi in the past, he pointed out that it was reinvigorating to note that the same Amaechi called to sympathise with him.

Inko-Tariah added that to reciprocate the former governor’s gesture, he would do his best to ensure that Peterside emerge as the governor of the state should there be a rerun.

He said, “It was surprising that a man I censured, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, CON, the Hon. Minister of Transport, was the same person who showed unsolicited love and care.

“It was reinvigorating when he called to sympathise and also gave his widow’s mite while I was already in the United States for medical treatment after reading my resignation letter. How compassionate can a man be!

“On my support for Hon. (Dr.) Dakuku Peterside, it is only natural that one reciprocates gestures. Therefore, I state my support for Rt. Hon. Amaechi and Dr. Peterside for the love they have shown.

“More so, Dr. Peterside is a man whose refreshing initiatives and articulated policy options will help refuel the ethos of good governance in Rivers State.” On why he resigned as the special adviser to the governor, Inko-Tariah recalled how he sustained head injuries after falling in a bathroom and how he escaped assassination, adding that the governor did not show concern over his plight.

He said, “As the special adviser to the governor, I fell in the bathroom and sustained serious head injuries. Two days later, I went to the office with the injury and all that the governor said was ‘thank God, you are alive’. Nothing after that.

“I had a close shave with death as my car was riddled with bullets. The governor did not bother to, at least, ask what happened. Even when I puked blood and he was informed, he showed no concern.”

He, however, stated that contrary to the insinuation that he was sacked by the Wike’s administration, he resigned as the special adviser to the governor.

Clash Between Ethiopian Forces And Citizens

At least 140 people have been killed in Ethiopia over the past two months in a crackdown on anti-government protests sparked by plans to expand the capital into farmland, Human Rights Watch said Friday.

“Security forces have killed at least 140 protesters and injured many more, according to activists, in what may be the biggest crisis to hit Ethiopia since the 2005 election violence,” HRW’s Felix Horne said.
The number reported by HRW is almost double the previous toll of 75 the group gave last month.

There was no immediate response from the Ethiopian government, which has previously put the death toll at five.

The protests began in November when students opposed government proposals to take over territory in several towns in the Oromia region, sparking fears that Addis Ababa was looking to grab land traditionally occupied by the Oromo people, the country’s largest ethnic group.

“Over the past eight weeks, Ethiopia’s largest region, Oromia, has been hit by a wave of mass protests over the expansion of the municipal boundary of the capital, Addis Ababa,”
